Out of the Blue Corbridge, is a designer childrenswear and gift shop based in the historic village of Corbridge, in the heart of rural Northumberland.

The idea started because although there are lovely specialist designers producing individual products, it is often impossible to find anything different and a little bit special in the high street.   "Then, when my sister complained how hard it was to find really great boyswear, the idea really took shape, and I realised how great it would be to combine a gift and childrenswear shop under one roof" says owner Jacquie King.   Adding  "Corbridge is such a lovely village, and there hadn't been a childrenswear shop here for over 15 years, so it all fit perfectly!"

Opened in September 03, Out of the Blue is a real treasure trove, includng a great selection of many of the best continental designer labels for children available each season, such as Catimini, Berlingot, Jean Bourget and Marese from France, Germany's Pampolina and PJE, Mayoral from Spain, and the Dutch labels Oilily and Cakewalk, to name but a few.   And because we usually only order one in each size of garment, customers know they've bought something really special. 
In addition we also stock lovely soft and wooden toys, nursery products, pressy ideas, and, not to be left out, some special lines in china, linens and soaps for grown-ups.   Since it opened in Sept 2003, the shop has flourished, building up a loyal band of fans who often travel a long distance to visit it. Customers, have said how nice it is to find so many lovely things in one shop, and suggested that we create a website so that they can visit us more often.
